Dr. Pekka Puska

M.D, M.Pol.Sc, PhD
Currently the Director General of the National Institute for Health and Welfare in Finland (THL). Prior to his present position Professor Puska was the Director General of KTL and, before that, the Director for Noncommunicable Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva. Professor Puska has, for most of his career, worked at the National Public Health Institute. He was, for 25 years, the Director and Principal Investigator of the North Karelia Project: prevention of cardiovascular diseases in North Karelia and later on in all Finland. Professor Puska has, internationally and domestically, served in a number of scientific, expert and public health functions, WHO's work, multinational projects, international conferences etc. He has over 500 scientific publications. Domestically, Professor Puska has served among other things as the Chancellor of the University of Turku, Chair of the Finnish University Council, Member of Board of Academy of Finland, Chair of the National Nutrition Committee and President of National Union of Finnish Students. He has also served as a Member of the National Parliament of Finland. Internationally, Professor Puska is the President of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI). He has also served as the Chair of the Governing Council of the WHO International Agency for Cancer Research (IARC) and as the President of the World Heart Federation. He has received, among other things, WHO's annual Health Education Award in 1990, WHO Tobacco Free World Award in 1999, the Nordic Award for Public Health in 2005, and the Rank Prize in 2008.

Dr. Cohen is a Diplomate of The American Board of Endodontics. He lectures worldwide on Endodontics, and is the senior Editor for all nine Editions of the definitive Endodontics textbook, Pathways of the Pulp, and a Co-editor of the renamed 10th Edition Cohen’s Pathways Of The Pulp. Dr. Cohen has authored and Co-authored numerous papers for the most significant Journals, was Co-editor and contributing Author of A Clinical Guide To Dental Traumatology, and has consulted to many organizations including the House Intergovernmental Relations and Human Resources Subcommittee, Letterman Army General Hospital and The California Dental Superiority of Service Panel.

Dr. Luigi Marchionni

MD, PhD
He is Assistant Professor of Oncology at the SidneyKimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, USA. He is also co-PI of the Center for Computational Genomics at Johns Hopkins, a multi-disciplinary initiative that has been awarded competitive funding from the University leadership, including the Provost and President’s offices, to support research and education in the field of Computationaal Genomics. Dr Marchionni is a skilled Bioinformaticist with extensive experience in the analysis and interpretation of genome-wide data. He trained in Medicine at the University of Turin, Italy, and obtained his PhD degree in “Structural and Functional Genomics” at the International School for Advanced Studies (ISAS-SISSA), Trieste, Italy. He has more 35+ original articles and research study in international journals. Peer reviewer for several journals like Cancer Research , Annals of Internal Medicine ,Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Research, Current Molecular Medicine, Oncogene, BMC Cancer, New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature Medicine. He has been Invited for talks at various international workshops and symposium.

Dr. Wolfgang Richter

DDS, PhD, FESCD, FIADFE
Dr.Richter is based in London/United Kingdom and is Clinical Director of a large number of postgraduate education programs in Cosmetic & Esthetic Dentistry. Since many years he is course instructor and visiting lecturer for dentists in those fields of dentistry. In 1987 he was Founding Member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and Founding President of the German Association of Esthetic Dentistry (DGAEZ) in 1992. In year 1992 and 1994 he was publisher and co-author of the 2 volume textbook “Aesthetics and Function”. As Founding President of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD) in 2003 he was significantly involved into the Europeanwide certification system and quality management. He is Honorary President of the ESCD and has been Clinical Lead of the postgraduate program “Master of Science in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry” (The University of Manchester/UK & Smile-on Ltd, London/UK) in 2010 and 2011. Since 2005 he is member of the Editorial Board of the “International Magazine of Cosmetic Dentistry” and member of the International Advisory Board of “Smile Dental Journal” since 2009 (mainly distributed in the Middle East and Gulf Areas). He is Vice President of BAIRD (British Academy of Implant & Restorative Dentistry) and Chairperson for Restorative Dentistry.

Dr. Arthur B. Novaes Jr.

Dr. Novaes completed his undergraduate training at the School of Dentistry of the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Novaes received the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Periodontology and Master of Science in Dentistry at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. In sequence, received his Doctor of Science in Microbiology title at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr Novaes is currently Chairman of Periodontology, School of Dentistry of Ribeirao Preto of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has written approximately 270 papers and has 2 books published. Is a board member of the International Academy of Periodontology,is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Periodontology and is currently Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Osseointegration. Finally Dr Novaes was President of the Brazilian Academy of Osseointegration, 2004-2008.

Dr.Edward Lynch

Completed a full term as the Head of Dentistry from 2010 in Warwick Dentistry at the University of Warwick. He has been elected the most influential person in UK Dentistry in 2010 by his peers (Google dentistry top 50 2010) and has held the position of Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Gerodontology of the Queen’s University Belfast as well as Consultant in Restorative Dentistry to the Royal Hospitals from 2000 – 2010. He also served as the Consultant Editor of Gerodontology, as well as the Treasurer and Secretary to GORG, IADR and Editor of the GORG IADR newsletter. He has served as Senior Lecturer in Conservative Dentistry and Hon. Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Postgraduate Course Organizer for the University of London where he was full time for 20 years (1980 – 2000). He was awarded a total of 94 research grants, totaling around 5 million pounds and has more than 500 publications, including chapters in books and refereed abstracts. During his career, Edward Lynch has successfully supervised more than fifty MSc, MPhil and PhD students and he has been awarded many prizes for his research. He is also a specialist in 3 disciplines, Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry as well as being a BUPA Consultant in Oral Surgery, and presents at many prestigious postgraduate courses worldwide each year. He is a Consultant to the ADA, a spokesperson for the BDA, a Scientific board member of the International Health Care Foundation and ISBOR, is on the editorial board of numerous International Journals and has spent decades as very much a “wet gloved” academic treating many specialist referrals every week, previously in the Royal Victoria Hospital as well as in Saint Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals. He has edited the Quintessence book entitled “Ozone – The Revolution in Dentistry” ISBN 18-5097-08-82. He is also the Chairman of the European Experts group on Tooth Whitening and he is actively seeking to change EU legislation to legalize Home Bleaching. He has presented to the EU parliament on 2 occasions on tooth whitening. In the past 12 years, his research team has been honoured ten times by being awarded first prizes at the annual meeting of the International Association for Dental Research including a 2012 IADR first prize for one of his MSc students Diarmuid Buckley in Warwick Dentistry. In addition in 2010 he has been elected the 2011 President of GORG in the International Association for Dental Research and in 2012 he has also been elected as the next President of the Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology (PTT) Research Groups in the International Association for Dental Research. In addition, Edward was elected to represent the Geriatric Oral Research Group on the Council of IADR from 2013 and he represented PTT on the IADR Council in 2012. He has also been elected as the Regent for Europe for the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy for Dento-Facial Esthetics. He has also been accredited in October 2010 with the prestigious membership of The American Society for Dental Aesthetics and has been awarded the 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award at the Dentistry Awards (Dentistry, 13 January 2011). On 16 Oct 2012 he was awarded the Fellowship of The American Society for Dental Aesthetics and is the first UK Dentist to ever achieve this prestigious Fellowship. On 10 Feb 2013 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Research and Teaching at the prestigious IAOHD Dentistry conference in Las Vegas. In June 2013 he was awarded from the University of Warwick one of the 10 WATE (Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence) prestigious awards for his teaching in Warwick Dentistry and he is the only Dentist in the University of Warwick to have ever been awarded this honour.

Dr.Ronald R. Girard

Dr. Girard began career in dentistry with the United States Army in the late 1980’s. He studied at the Academy of Health Sciences in Fort Sam Houston, TX and completed training as a US Dental Laboratory Technology. He then was assigned to the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Buffalo, New York. There he worked with leading surgeons placing the first generation dental implants in the United States. He then went on to the University of Buffalo to complete Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He graduated Cum Laude with Thesis Honors. His research, Periodontal Disease in the NOD Mouse with Robert Genco, DDS was instrumental showing diabetes and its relation to bone loss of jaw. He continued his implant surgery training with the Medical College of Georgia in which he completed the intensive, Implantology Maxi Course. He was active in hospital based dental residency training programs teaching and maintaining attending positions with Long Island Jewish Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, Robert Packer Hospital, and North Shore University Hospital. He was a member of Internal Review Board at Robert Packer Hospital. He lectured extensively on the topics of cosmetic dentistry and dental implant surgery. Recently he was invited to membership with Advanced Dental Implant Studies (ADIS). The ADISis a dental medicine and surgery “think tank”, in which he lectures regularly. Dr Anil Chandra, Professor, Dept. He completed his graduation as well post-graduation from Government Dental College, Bangalore. He has authored and co-authored 51 scientific papers. 39 of them in international journals. He Was the Co-investigator of ‘Government of India-World Health Organisation funded research’ project, titled “Oral health promotion and interventional activities in rural areas of Davangere district during 2006-2007. The report of it was published on CAP (Country Area Profile) of WHO website. He was invited as an expert committee member for a Government of India-WHO project—“Development of training manual and relevant IEC material for health workers and training cascade under NRHM”. He was a Research Consultant and a Special Invitee for a National oral health research project under the panel of GlaxoSmith Kline and Beecham (GSK) Pharmaceuticals International Corporation during July 2008. He was conferred ‘INDIRA GANDHI SADBHAVANA’ award in 2009. He regularly conducts workshops and an invited speaker on Research methodology, Biostatistics, Scientific writing, Critical appraisal of scientific articles, Journal clubs Research ethics, Practice management, Teaching learning methodologies, HPE and Personality development.He has delivered workshops and guest lectures on these topics in many dental and medical colleges across India. So far five of his students secured gold medals in post-graduation exams conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
